Isn't this the strategy drug dealers use? Well apparently e-on software decided it would work for them, too. Ever wanted to try Vue? If you do 3D art, and you haven't tried it, you really should. And now you can get the base version, Vue 7 Pioneer, for free. [link]

Before you ask... no, I'm not working for Vue and I don't get a percentage of the money you don't pay for this. No kickbacks here. But Vue does happen to be my favorite software in my 3D workflow, so I figure, why not spread the joy, y'know?

I'm sure this version only includes the very basic functionality, and they're hoping you'll buy upgrades and add-ons. Which, if you try it, you probably will. So be forewarned. Personally, I'm saving up for Vue 7 Complete -- sure, I'd love xStream, but who's got that kinda dough these days?

Anyway... go check it out. Download the thing, fire it up, see what you can make with it!

Hey... at the rate I've been cranking out the art, even if I did promise you something, my advice would be not to believe me. ;) I've actually got 3 long-term projects that have been in mothballs for more months than I'd care to admit to.

What's up with you these days? It's nice to see that you at least have been able to keep up the momentum! :)

Oh no, I have stalled out for the moment. Aches and pains have slowed me down. So have the balloons and CoH. Spring break reeked havok with my schedule and now i've got to get back on track before summer...

I don't know about DAZ, but it should import Poser scene files. At least, Vue 6 does -- that is how I render pretty much everything these days. I'd be willing to bet this does too.

Hmm... in Vue 6, you go File, Import Object. Then you can select any .pz3 or .pzz file. I haven't tried 7 yet, let me know if it doesn't work and I'll look into it. Maybe it's one of those add-ons they mentioned.
